Gen Z spends an average of about 9 hours per day on screens, primarily scrolling through social media.
This excessive screen time contributes to various issues, including myopia—a condition where close objects appear clear, but distant ones look blurry. Over time, this can lead to more severe vision problems, potentially even vision loss.
For the D&AD brief set by 21 Grams, our goal was to reduce myopia in young adults by curbing excessive screen time.
Collaborating with designers Hannah Lacey, Hopper Miller, and Oliver Monger, we developed a satirical take on Siri—an app that uses brutal honesty and sharp wit to disrupt doomscrolling habits.
Through critical, no-nonsense reminders, the app challenges users to step away from their screens, making them more aware
of their screen time in a way that’s both engaging and
thought-provoking.
